Are you stressing after finding out you’re pregnant in college? Maybe you feel confused about what your future holds now. Here are some things to know when navigating a pregnancy while going to college, including confirming your pregnancy details and your pregnancy options. You are stronger than you know.

The first thing to remember before thinking too far ahead is that you are not alone. Help and support are available.

Confirm Your Pregnancy Details

Confirm your pregnancy details with both pregnancy testing and an ultrasound. A positive pregnancy test is not enough information to make an informed and safe pregnancy decision. Ultrasounds are vital because they confirm the following:

  • How far along you are (also called gestational age)
  • The viability of your pregnancy (whether there is a heartbeat & the pregnancy is progressing)
  • The location of your pregnancy (whether it’s located within your uterus)

About 10-20% of women experience a miscarriage, which is the loss of a pregnancy. Some women also experience ectopic pregnancy, where the pregnancy grows outside of the uterus. This is considered a non-viable pregnancy, requiring immediate medical attention.

Know Your Pregnancy Options

You deserve clarity about all of your pregnancy options: abortion, adoption, and parenting. We at Rockingham Pregnancy Care Center offer non-judgemental education on your options so you can make an informed decision for your future.

We’re here to help you answer the hard questions and offer more insight into how each option works. We know people may be pressuring you into certain pregnancy decisions right now, but know that you have the final say.
